Overview

Sultan Shawarma, nestled on High Road in London N17, offers an authentic Middle Eastern dining experience that stands out in a bustling cityscape. This unassuming spot excels in delivering vibrant flavors and hearty portions, particularly highlighted by their signature doner kebab roll and rich pumpkin soup—dishes that marry tradition with a modern twist.

The true star at Sultan Shawarma is undoubtedly their shawarma wraps. Tender, well-seasoned meats like chicken and lamb are complemented by freshly baked Kurdish naan, crafted right before your eyes, adding a rustic touch that elevates each bite. The wraps are filled generously with fresh salads and balanced by thoughtfully crafted sauces—the mild special sauce and fiery chili sauce add layers of flavor without overpowering the palate.

Beyond wraps, the Special Grill selection offers a variety of Middle Eastern classics, including Kurdish kabab shish and lamb ribs, reflecting both Kurdish and broader regional influences. Each plate celebrates the rich, smoky, and spiced character of the region’s barbecue traditions, perfect for those seeking a hearty meal with authentic roots.

Customer experiences consistently praise the quality, generosity, and warmth of service—elements that define the brand’s ethos. Whether it's the complimentary lentil soup alongside a chicken shawarma or the generosity of sides like okra curry and beans accompanying the Qozzy rice dish, Sultan Shawarma demonstrates care and authenticity that food lovers crave.

The space itself, while modest, feels inviting and unpretentious, making it accessible for a diverse urban crowd—from local workers craving a quick, flavorful lunch to football fans stopping by before or after a match. The reasonable pricing underscores its appeal, offering substantial Middle Eastern fare without breaking the bank.

In sum, Sultan Shawarma is a gem for those drawn to the aromatic spices and textures of Middle Eastern cuisine. It promises a satisfying, authentic experience marked by quality ingredients, generous servings, and a welcoming atmosphere that invites repeat visits across London’s diverse and dynamic food scene.

I was craving a good shawarma wrap and sultan shawarma stood out to me and upon visiting i can say not only was the wrap mouth watering, filled to perfection and packed with flavour but the customer service was top tier. The selection of fillings was pleasing and the sauces taste perfect not too overpowering and pairs nicely with the food. The chilli sauce and the special sauce is a must have. To top off the food and customer service, the price so far based off my search was unbeatable i will definitely visit again!

Visited the shop last night, food was 10/10. Chicken shawarma wrap was full of flavour, wrapped in a toasted naan bread, they even provided a complimentary lentil soup which was nice.

Popped into this place whilst in the area watching Aston Villa play Spurs. Wow what a find... The shawarma was the best I've tasted in the UK was just like being in Turkey. Can't wait for Spurs away next season to visit again.

Top quality shawarmas. I keep finding myself very lucky that this shop is local to me. It's affordable and of great quality. The bread is homemade in front of you, the meat is very tasty and the salad fresh. Not sure what else we could ask for given the price.

I was craving a Middle Eastern rice dish that is not particularly Turkish -love Turkish food btw- I ordered Qozzy which I think but I am not completely certain is an Iraqi dish. I have only ordered the rice with chicken dish for £ 9 and asked to have sauces. I have been surprised with the generosity! They not only gave me sauces but also beans and Okra curry side(s). They are also very considerate and added utensils and a pitta bread. I don’t usually write reviews but you guys deserve it. The food is warming and you can feel whoever cooked it, cooked it with love. The half chicken is tender and falls off the bone (not kidding). The okra and beans take it to the next level. The quantity of both the chicken and rice is generous and it is only for £9 usually I would pay for just the rice and quarter a chicken for £14-15 minimum. I ordered it on Uber. Thank you and God bless you
